Shaun stepped into the kitchen hoping to see welcoming smiles. After all, it was his first day at work. However, all he could see were grim and fierce faces. Shaun quickly hurried to his station and started chopping mountains of onions. They made him cry and his eyes were red.

Suddenly, a big burly chef by the name of Gusteau came barging in from the restaurant.

"Ah, my comrades! He has come again!" he wheezed heavily as he tried to catch his breath. His tight uniform did not help at all. There was a collective gasp as all the chefs froze for an instant. All except Shaun, who was still crying away!

Meanwhile, in the restaurant itself...

"I don't care! I have sampled everything on the menu and I now long for something different, unique, and fabulous! Nothing reptilian, amphibian, nor smelly please! Or I'll get the chefs fired!" a fiery order was heard. The unreasonable order was from Mr Frederick Fonso, the richest man in town. No one knew why he did not want any reptilian or amphibian-based cuisines. These were supposed to be exotic expensive dishes befitting a rich man like him. Well, the truth was, Mr Frederick Fonso was frightened of these animals!

Back in the kitchen, the chefs were having a furious discussion. Then, all eyes began to turn to Shaun, who was still crying at the corner. All the chefs' lips curled upwards as they plunked a live snake and two drowsy frogs in front of him.

"Whip up a storm, Shaun," gushed Chef Gusteau, his jelly-like belly quivering. He grabbed a huge slab of smelly tofu and put it right in the middle of the animals.

Shaun was aghast! He did not know what to do! For a moment, he stood rooted to the ground.

"COOK!" shouted the Head Chef and immediately Shaun's hands became a blur! His pots clanged as he prepared the ingredients in front of him.

Finally, the grand ingredient. Chef Shaun nearly passed out himself for he was holding a vile-smelling slab of smelly tofu! It was simply putrid!

The terrible smell chased all the chefs away. Still, he persevered.

At last, the dish was ready.

Chef Shaun had to present it to Mr Frederick Fonso himself. All the other chefs craned their necks to see what would happen. Mr Fonso took his silver spoon and delicately scooped up the thick soup. He pouted his mouth and slurped a little. Immediately, his eyes grew big and he started to cough!

"Why! Why! This is the ... the... BEST dish I have ever tasted!" he spluttered noisily. "This meat... I have never tasted it before! These sweet legs... what are they? And the smell... well... it is different! I like it! I LIKE IT!" he yelled like a lunatic.

From that day onwards, Mr Frederick overcame his fear of reptiles and amphibians.

Thanks to Shaun, the restaurant became renown for that particular dish and everyone from all walks of life came to try it.
