Where are you? Do you remember those days we once had?
The gentle spring melted away all the coldness in the world. Even if you
were still sleepy, we ran endlessly in the vast fields. You held my hand
under the willow tree where "the willow branches are three feet long and the
cherry blossoms are shattered by a single raindrop". You hugged me and we
looked up at the blue sky. You pointed at the flowing clouds and told me
endless stories. You held a magnolia flower in your palm and tilted your
head, saying with a smile, "It's for you, my forever little brother.
Remember that!" I looked at the magnolia in your hand, it was so white. In
those days, you and I were happy in the blessings of spring.
The hot summer made us breathless. You took me and dashed into the dazzling
supermarket. The cold air conditioning drove away the hottest weather of
summer. You put a smiling penguin on my head and said, "Little brother, I'm
giving this to you. It's so cute." I smiled happily. Now, that penguin still
swings on the desk. It's lonely and scared. In those days, you and I swayed
in the melody of your summer songs.
Autumn came and leaves danced in the golden fields. I ran to you happily,
but your eyes were full of tears. I held your hand and you smiled. You said
to me, "Little brother, if I'm not here anymore, will you still be happy
like this? Promise me, you'll be happy." You gave me a withered maple leaf.
I held it and cried, "Sister, don't you want me anymore? Where are you
going?" You touched my head and said, "Sister is going to a beautiful place
and can't take you with me. When the leaves turn green again next year, I'll
come and get you, okay?" I smiled naively and said, "Okay!" We continued to
run in the last season's picture. That leaf was so yellow. In the dance of
autumn, you and I were silent.
Winter came, and there was no one outside the window in the cold world, only
me, missing you in the silent winter.
Autumn has gone through many seasons. Where are you? Do you still run in the
endless fields? Do you still remember those days we had, silently blessing?
Please don't say to me, "Once the leaves fall, they will never turn green
again. Once those days are gone, they will never come back." |
