A Beloved Pursuit

Mountaineering is a sport suitable for people of all ages, and it happens to be my favorite activity. To me, mountaineering not only strengthens my body but also allows me to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes of our great nation along the way. It truly is a delightful endeavor.

When I first started mountaineering, it was during a trip with my parents. At that time, I was young and light as a feather, hopping and skipping my way up the mountains, accompanied by the gentle breeze. Along the journey, I had flying insects as my companions, bird songs as my background music, and the sound of my footsteps on the stone steps became the rhythmic beat of my feet. It was a harmonious symphony, filling my heart with joy. When I reached the mountaintop and inhaled the fresh air, I couldn't help but fall in love with this activity.

As I grew older, I continued to embark on mountaineering adventures. With a heavier body, it became more challenging, but the moment I reached the mountaintop, the rejuvenating scenery washed away any fatigue, replaced by the joy of treading on soft soil and running amidst the wild grass, or the awe and wonder of encountering yaks. After a gust of wind, I could see a "vast sea." Witnessing herds of cattle and sheep grazing in the "wind-blown grasslands" became a scene of pure delight. I had become infatuated with mountaineering, addicted to this sensation.

Recently, I once again participated in a mountaineering expedition. By now, mountaineering has become a habit for me, and every vacation calls for another climb. However, nowadays, mountaineering has become more physically demanding for me. Although I continue to exercise for the sake of my health, what truly motivates me is the opportunity to behold the magnificent mountains and rivers of our homeland. Just like my recent ascent of Mount Zhenwu, what I yearned for was not merely physical exercise, but the chance to witness the grandeur of our nation's landscapes, to experience the passion and boundless ambitions encapsulated in the phrase "Marvel at the vastness of our land, tears welling up in our eyes."

Mountaineering has become an indispensable part of my life, instilling in me a deep reverence for our great Chinese nation and its vast territories. I genuinely love mountaineering. It has transcended being a mere physical activity and has become a state of mind, empowering me to overcome challenges and achieve success. I love mountaineering.
