Let go of your worries with an apology

There are many things that can cause us distress, such as misunderstandings with friends, criticism from parents, or reprimands from teachers. Are you still troubled by these things even though they are in the past? I used to be just like you, but after one incident, I stopped worrying.

One day during our school's art class, we made small wooden boats. After class, my best friend and I swapped boats. However, while examining her boat, I accidentally dropped it, and it broke into two pieces. My friend was angry and immediately threw my boat to the ground before leaving without a word.

A week went by, and my friend had not spoken to me since I dropped her boat. I didn't apologize because I believed I did nothing wrong. My mother noticed that we weren't playing together anymore and asked me what happened. She told me that I was wrong and that I should apologize. After some persuasion, I made a new boat, apologized to my friend, and explained what happened. This time, she listened to me and apologized back. We made up and were friends again.

I used to worry about this incident, but eventually, we resolved our misunderstanding. I learned that apologizing can help ease worries, and I no longer worry about such things. Do you still feel troubled?
