The Depths of Love |
|
Love - What is it? Love is care, love is nurture...but in my eyes, love is not
that simple.
Parents and children are like oysters and sand. The oyster nourishes and cares
for the sand with its own flesh and blood, protecting it every moment until it
becomes a dazzling pearl. Parents are the same way.
"A mother's hands sewing clothes for her traveling son, with tight stitches
before his departure, fearing he may return late. Who says a tiny blade of grass
cannot repay three springs of sunshine?" Yes, parents have good intentions, but
we just don't understand. Poor parents' hearts in the world!
When we are sick, they are by our bedside every step of the way; when it rains,
they bring us an umbrella in the downpour; when we are unhappy, they advise us
in our ear. They use their own shoulders to support a piece of the sky for us.
Love is selfless.
A few days ago, I read an essay called "Postures of Love." It tells the story of
grandparents taking their granddaughter Qian Qian on a trip, but the cabin
caught fire on their way back. Knowing the giant ship couldn't withstand the
turbulent sea, the grandmother could only hold Qian Qian's small body tightly.
Nine days later, when the bodies of the grandmother and granddaughter were
salvaged, people were surprised to find that their bodies were tightly entwined
and couldn't be separated.
The posture of love - that embodies the grandmother's infinite love. At a
life-and-death juncture, the two stuck together, never leaving nor forsaking,
living and dying together. Their love deeply moved me; it brought tears to my
eyes. Love is eternal, great, and warm.
"As long as everyone gives a little love, the world will be a better place..."
Indeed, giving is also a manifestation of love. Whether it's Jet Li's "One
Foundation," Huang Yi's "Yidong Foundation," or even the money we donate to
poverty-stricken areas, it's all love, and it can make others feel happy and
joyful.
In my eyes, love is selfless, eternal, great, warm, and at the same time, the
most ordinary. |
