Benefits of Playing Badminton for Health and Well-Being |
|
Today, while scrolling through my social media feed, I stumbled upon a post
claiming that playing badminton can cure various ailments. Although I am not
entirely convinced, I do believe that exercise is beneficial, especially for
someone like me who leads a sedentary lifestyle. Here, I would like to share my
experience and encourage those who enjoy playing badminton or lack physical
activity to give it a try.
Although I have only been playing badminton for about twenty days, I have
noticed significant improvements in my health and well-being.
Firstly, my neck pain has reduced significantly. Previously, in the afternoon,
my neck would feel stiff and painful, making it challenging to move. Now, the
muscles in my neck are less tense, and I feel more flexible. Perhaps it is
because when playing badminton, our back naturally straightens, unlike when
sitting in front of a computer all day and only moving our fingers.
Secondly, playing badminton improves blood circulation. I have experienced this
firsthand. Previously, when I woke up every morning, my arms would feel numb.
Upon closer observation, I noticed that the veins in my left and right arms were
visibly different in thickness due to mild hyperlipidemia. Recently, I have
noticed that the difference in vein thickness is less noticeable. It could be
just my mind playing tricks, or maybe the exercise is genuinely working!
Thirdly, exercise improves sleep quality, which is undoubtedly true.
Lastly, playing badminton may reduce the risk of myopia in children. Although I
do not have enough evidence to support this claim, when playing badminton, we
tend to focus our eyes on the shuttlecock, which requires us to look into the
distance. This could be an excellent way to relax and rest our eyes. Encouraging
children to play badminton regularly can not only promote physical fitness but
also reduce their screen time, which is a positive outcome.
For the sake of our health, let us persevere and continue playing badminton! |
