The Quiet and Ordinary Autumn in Guangzhou |

As the scorching heat of summer fades away, and the autumn wind starts to blow,
I know that autumn has arrived in Guangzhou, as the old saying goes, "The cool
autumn weather is so pleasant."
Unlike the colorful spring, noisy summer, and desolate winter, autumn in
Guangzhou comes quietly and peacefully. It arrives without any signs, so much so
that I did not even notice it at first. When the sweet southern pomegranate
swirls in my mouth, the delicious Cantonese mooncake jumps in my mouth, the rich
osmanthus fragrance wafts in front of my nose, and the talented poet Li Yu sings
"When will the spring flowers and autumn moon end, and how much do we know about
the past" beside me, I know that autumn has come to Guangzhou.
The autumn in Guangzhou is different from that in the northern regions. It does
not have a desolate and bleak landscape, nor does it appear to be full of
vicissitudes. It comes so peacefully and calmly. Although the green trees cannot
conceal the traces of the season, they still absorb the nutrients of the earth
vigorously, demonstrating their robust resistance and striving to offer greenery
in people's lives for as long as possible. Even the occasional falling yellow
leaves, despite being pulled back and forth by the autumn wind, still tightly
cling to the branches, as if clinging to their mother.
Walking on the way to school, a fallen leaf danced beautifully in front of my
eyes, floating gently to the ground. When I bent down to pick it up, it turned
out to be a kapok tree leaf. Ah, people are fascinated by the splendid fireworks
of kapok flowers, but why does no one remember these lonely tree leaves, which
fall and turn to dust, quietly dedicating themselves to the blooming of the
flowers next year?
Autumn in Guangzhou is ordinary, stripping away the world's prosperity, just
like this ordinary kapok tree leaf. Autumn in Guangzhou is also short-lived,
coming quietly and leaving hastily, only seeking to offer and not asking for
anything in return. |
