My Best Friend Little Yu |
|
At home, I have my parents' care and attention, and at school, I have the
company of classmates and teachers. Whenever I feel lonely or troubled, there is
always a crazy little girl named Little Yu (we call her Little Fish because she
likes goldfish) by my side, talking and laughing and bouncing around. She has
been my good friend for many years, and her personality has never changed...
As a child, Little Yu confided her thoughts to her goldfish, but her favorite
was the angelfish. Whenever the angelfish was pregnant, it was the happiest time
for her. That summer, the bellies of three pregnant angelfish grew bigger and
bigger (probably carrying fish babies). Little Yu was thrilled and dragged me to
her house right after school. A few days later, she was so excited that she
dragged me to her house again to see the baby fish. As she watched, she couldn't
resist reaching out and pinching the tail of one of the fish mothers, then using
her other hand to gently press on the mother's belly. Several baby fish were
"sprayed" out, and she was so happy that she shouted with joy, feeling a feeling
she had never felt before.
The next morning, before dawn, Little Yu's phone call woke me up. Just as I
picked up the phone, she shouted, "Hurry over to my house, quickly!" before I
could even say a word, she hung up. This Little Yu, what kind of silly thing has
she done now? I quickly washed up and grabbed my school bag, and rushed over.
Ha! This silly girl didn't even close the door. As soon as I stepped in, Little
Yu pulled me into the kitchen, and all I saw was the angelfish mother from
yesterday floating in the sink (not because Little Yu pinched it). She said to
me, "When I woke up this morning, I saw it floating in the fish tank. I...I gave
it artificial respiration, but it still didn't respond."
At this point, should I laugh or not at this silly girl? |
