How They've Enriched My Life |
|
Some say that a good book is like a beacon of light, illuminating the path of
our lives. Others say it's like a compass, guiding us in the right direction.
And still others say it's like a key, unlocking the doors to success for the
weak and vulnerable.
Without books, I would never have known the story of "Three Visits to the
Cottage of the Recluse" or "Piercing One's Thigh with a Sharp Awl." Through
reading, I learned how to study diligently, how to treat others with respect,
and how to appreciate the preciousness of life.
From books, I learned the saying "Time flies," reminding me of the value of time
and the need to cherish it, study hard, strive for success, and serve our
country when we grow up.
From books, I learned that "To build up China, we must read," understanding the
importance of knowledge and the need to work hard to learn more to help our
country develop.
From books, I learned the importance of friendship, as expressed in the phrase
"The water in Peach Blossom Spring is thousands of feet deep, but not as deep as
Wang Lun's affection for me." I learned that we should not sweat the small stuff
in life, but should have an open mind and be ready to make friends, cherishing
the value of those friendships.
And from books, I learned the greatness of maternal love, as expressed in the
phrase "Who says a small blade of grass cannot repay the spring sunshine
threefold?" We should all strive to learn and grow, to repay our mothers' love
as they nurture and care for us.
Through books such as "In the Center of the Desert," I learned to be brave, and
through "Beethoven, the Giant of Music," I learned to be resolute, like
Beethoven.
Books are like small boats, taking us across the vast sea of knowledge and
teaching us many things.
I am grateful for books, as they have enriched my life and made it more
fulfilling. |
