Grateful Heart |

A mother's love is like a clear and warm stream flowing through my heart. It is
like a beautiful flower blooming with goodness and love in my heart. Ah, a
mother's love is truly magnificent!
Once, when our family was doing a major cleaning, I, being a child, was playing
around with the broom, sweeping back and forth on the floor. When I got bored, I
put the broom between my legs and pretended to be the wise and powerful Harry
Potter, running around and making a mess of the just-cleaned floor. My dad
scolded me, saying, "Your mother and I are exhausted, and you are making things
worse!" I felt ashamed and lowered my head.
But my mother quickly came to my defense and said, "LuLu is just a child. You
can't expect her to understand everything. Let her redo the cleaning. It will be
good exercise for her!" Hearing my mother's words, I felt even more ashamed than
if my father had scolded me.
Another time, I made my good friend cry, and my mother scolded me and told me
that good friends should treat each other with kindness and that fighting is not
acceptable. She asked me how I would feel if my friend hit me, and I realized my
mistake. I apologized to my friend, and my mother reminded me to never hit
anyone again.
Mom, I want to say thank you for your patience and guidance. I will study hard
and work hard every day to become a better person. |
