The Burden of Being a Good Student |
|
In the eyes of those who struggle academically, good students are often seen as
fortunate. They seem to have a halo above their heads, being the teacher's pets
and always in the spotlight. However, they are unaware of the struggles that we,
as good students, face.
As a squad leader in my class, I am considered to have absolute authority over
my classmates. However, only a few actually treat me with respect, especially
those who do not value their studies. They only approach me when they need
something and treat me with disdain when they do not.
Managing the class is even more challenging. We must maintain academic
excellence while also managing the class, dealing with troublemakers and
conflicts. It is a tiresome task, and who can understand it? We work hard, but
nobody notices, and when we make even the slightest mistake, we are harshly
criticized by the teacher and ridiculed by our classmates.
We are constantly under pressure to perform well, and there is no one to console
us when we struggle. Sometimes, we manage to get lucky and receive praise from
our teachers, but it is rare and fleeting, as the expectations are always
raised.
Being a good student is enviable, but the burden we carry is heavy. It is not
easy to always be expected to excel, and our struggles often go unnoticed. |
