The Arsonist's Secret

In the Alfred estate, residents had been living in fear due to a string of motorcycle arsons. Despite increased police patrols, the culprit remained at large. When eight motorcycles were found burnt in the car park, car owners feared for their safety too. Mr Tan and Mr and Mrs Wong were discussing the situation when Mr Lee joined them, feigning concern.

As the days went by, Mr Lee grew increasingly restless. Memories of his humiliating dismissal from work haunted him. He knew he had been mistreated but felt powerless to do anything about it. One day, he kicked a motorcycle in anger and was surprised to find a sense of satisfaction in watching it fall. That night, he returned with a bottle of lighter fluid and set the motorcycle on fire. The rush of adrenaline he felt was addictive and soon he was setting more fires.

However, his actions were caught by Mr Rahim and Mr Eng, who confronted him in the act. Overcome with guilt and shame, Mr Lee broke down in tears. The neighbors were understanding and offered him a chance at redemption, but only if he sought help for his issues.

With the support of his community and professional help, Mr Lee was able to overcome his demons and find peace. The arsonist's secret was out, but so was his path to recovery.
