A Close Call: My Encounter with a Fire |
|
As I lit the candles and turned on the music in my apartment, I felt a sense of
calm wash over me. However, the peaceful atmosphere was soon disrupted by the
smell of smoke. Rushing to the kitchen, I discovered that the curtains were on
fire and the flames were quickly spreading.
Instinctively, I retreated to my room and called the fire brigade. With my heart
pounding in my chest, I jumped up and down by the open windows, shouting for
help. The security guards and cleaners quickly responded, along with some brave
residents armed with fire extinguishers.
Fortunately, I was safe behind the fire-proof door in my room, as the
firefighters worked to put out the blaze. When it was all over, I emerged from
my room to a scene of chaos and destruction.
The aftermath was shocking, with my sofa and coffee table half-burnt and the
entire apartment filled with smoke. I was left stunned, with the reality of the
situation sinking in. The relief of being safe was overshadowed by the thought
of how my parents would react to the news.
Overall, the experience was a close call and a reminder of how quickly things
can escalate. It is important to always be vigilant and prepared for the
unexpected. |
