On Sports Day, the field is decorated with banners. Little coloured triangular flags are stuck in the ground along the length of the track. The pavilion is the most decorated area, especially with its lavish display of rosettes and banners. In front of the pavilion are three long wooden tables displaying the cups, trophies and other medals which would be given to the winners at the end of the meet. A three-levelled platform stand opposite the pavilion with the figures 1,2 and 3 clearly marked on the three different levels.

All the participants/contestants feel very nervous as they warm up for their events. Bang ! As the gun goes off for each race, the contestants would run with all their strength. As the runners come near the finishing line the crowd would cheer the runners on. At the end of the day, the prize-winning ceremony would take place. All the winners are called to step onto the platform to receive their medals. Usually, a well-known person is asked to present the medals to the winners.
