"We're all waiting for you at Port Miller Swimming Pool, Alison. Are you coming with us?" ___1___ the voice on the telephone.

"Alison," called her mother from the house suddenly. "I overheard your conversation with your friends. Why don't you join them at the pool and do this later?"

"Really?" Thanks, Mom!" said Alison gratefully.
