    Change the following into indirect speech.
     
   

"Boys ! Remember that you are playing a game," the coach said. "Be sportsmanlike and play fairly."

The coach reminded the boys that they were playing a game and told them to be sportsmanlike and to play fairly.

     
1.   "Don't quarrel among yourselves, children," the old man said. "Use your time in a more worthwhile manner."
2.   "I promised to reward you," he said. "And I have kept my word."
3.   "Won't you have another cup of tea ?" she asked me. "There's plenty of it left in the pot."
4.   "Get out of my house !" he shouted at the boy. "There is no place here for children like you !"
5.   "Don't add water to acid," the science master warned his pupils. "There might be an explosion."
6.   "What did you say ?" the old man asked, leaning forward. "I can't hear you at all," he added.
7.   "Don't keep dinner for me tonight," she said. "I shall be eating at Race's house."
8.   "All of you have disgraced the regiment !" the Colonel shouted at his men. "Now you will have to pay for it."
9.   "Oh, dear ! what am I going to do ?" the girl wailed. "I have lost all my personal documents."
10.   "No, no ! I won't obey you !" the child cried. He shouted at his nurse, "I hate you 1 Go away and leave me alone !"
11.   "Look here, mister," the shopkeeper said angrily, "either make your purchase now or walk out of my shop."
12.   "Stop beating that dog !" the lady cried. "How can you be so cruel to a helpless animal ?"
13.   He said, "Who are you to speak to me like that ? Don't you know that I am your superior ?"
14.   "Mother !" she called. "I am home. Look what I have brought for you."
15.   "Good afternoon. What can I do for you ?" the clerk said.
16.   "Oh, why can't all of you leave me alone ?" she said. "Don't you understand that I want to make the decision myself ?"
17.   "Best of luck in your examination, Lucy !" I said. "I'm sure that you're very well prepared for it."
18.   "I am planting a cherry tree," he explained. He added, "But I can't hope to live to see it bearing fruit."
19.   "How far have you gone with your work, David ?" the teacher asked. "You have to hand it in at the end of this month."
20.   "Thank you, Grandmother," Nelson said. "I shall buy something useful with the money that you gave me. Do you want me to buy anything for you ?"

15.   The clerk greeted me and asked what he could do for me.
16.   She asked them why they couldn't leave her alone and added that she wanted to make the decision herself.
17.   I wished Lucy the best of luck in her examination and added that I was sure that she was very well prepared for it.
18.   He explained that he was planting a cherry tree but added that he couldn't hope to live to see it bear fruit.
19.   The teacher asked David how far he had gone with his work and reminded him that he had to hand it in at the end of the month.
