A man named Korpi who is a former special forces soldier searches for gold in
the Finnish landscape during World War II, and when he strikes gold, he comes
across a group of Finnish women being held hostage by Nazis who have stolen the
country's resources.
In a fight for the gold, Korpi uses his special forces training to take down
the Nazis and retrieve the gold. The film is a violent exploitation war flick
that owes its roots to spaghetti Westerns, Rambo, and Sergio Leone's films.
The movie has a deeper nationalistic message that subverts the historical
image of the prospector and addresses the plight of the Finnish women held
captive. The film is entertaining and has a brooding score and chapter titles
that match Korpi's undaunted will. |
