If life is considered a distant voyage, then when is it most
exhilarating throughout this lengthy journey? My answer might surprise you: it's
not when you comprehend the meandering river, not when the gentle rain adorns
the river with sparkling droplets, nor when the river reflects a vibrant world
beneath the vast azure sky. Instead, it's when the river surges, dancing with
the wild winds and competing with the brilliance of thunder and lightning!
That moment is the time of struggle, the time of unwavering persistence—that
time is sports training. Standing at the foot of the mountain, I look up to see
step after step, a long path leading to the mountaintop. Am I afraid? No! Climb
upward swiftly! Take two steps at a time; the time for struggle has come. The
hearts of the trees on the mountainside are verdant, the flowers on the roadside
are blooming splendidly, but we no longer have time to pay attention. Beads of
sweat are about to drip from our foreheads, our increasingly heavy feet are
protesting, but we have no inclination to care. Because we understand: How can
we see a rainbow without enduring storms? Our rainbow awaits us in that expanse
of clear sky atop the mountain! Time passes gradually, and we draw closer to the
mountaintop. When we step onto the final staircase, faces flushed and fatigued,
we smile! Ah, it turns out that perseverance plus effort equals success!
That moment is the time of struggle, the time of being fully engrossed. The desk
is piled high with homework, resembling a small mountain range, and I no longer
have a spare moment to count how many assignments there are. Downstairs, my
younger brother leisurely cracks sunflower seeds while watching television, but
I don't feel that such leisure brings happiness. "Sometimes furrowing my brow,
sometimes smiling, sometimes swiftly writing with determination." I wonder which
article described this—it probably wrote about me! I immerse myself in Su Shi's
"Song of Water Rhyme," navigate the ocean of algebraic geometry, ponder over
Darwin's theory of biological evolution, and sigh for the Cultural Revolution.
Before long, I've completed it all. However, when I glance at the clock, it
turns out I've been sitting for three hours! A face of delight, and after a
rest, I dive in once more. It seems that being fully engrossed plus effort
equals success!
By paying attention to life, I've discovered many formulas like these:
perseverance plus effort equals success; optimism and positivity plus effort
equals success; proactive ambition plus effort equals success... Life becomes
extraordinary through struggle. |
