"The Boogeyman" is a disappointing horror film that fails to live up to the
director's previous innovative works. While boasting Stephen King as the source
of inspiration, the movie lacks originality and relies on familiar horror
tropes. The story follows a therapist father and his two daughters who are
haunted by the loss of their mother. Despite the somber
atmosphere and occasional jump scares, the film lacks emotional depth and
becomes monotonous.
The use of light and sound is clever, but the neglect of modern technology
feels outdated. Overall, "The Boogeyman" is a lackluster horror experience in
need of a refresh. |
