Reflections on Time |
|
Speaking of this topic, to be honest, I often brought it up when I was in
elementary school. As for why, I think it was because I had done so many
wrong things and wanted to make amends. However, recently I came across a
novel that stirred up my memories, and I couldn't help but recall this
long-forgotten idea - can I go back to the past?
In today's society, with the advancement of technology, emerging
technologies are emerging one after another. Once upon a time, people
fantasized about having an identical replica of themselves in the world, and
thus, cloning technology was born. People also dreamed of exploring spaces
greater than their current circumstances, so they ventured into the
universe. However, as for the technology people most eagerly anticipated -
time travel - it has not made much progress to this day.
So, if you could really go back to the past, assuming it's only once, how
would you choose? Perhaps you would correct the mistakes you made before, or
maybe you would regain the lost love, or perhaps you would meet those who
have passed away. But maybe someone would consider this opportunity too
precious to use, and they would not use it until their last moments of life.
After talking so much, let's discuss my own thoughts. Perhaps for someone
like me who has always had no future in my heart, only the past, going back
to the past is the most beautiful thing. I could find those friends who have
already gone to another world, retrieve lost important things, and even
salvage that immature love. But as for going back to the past, it seems
contradictory to me personally. If I really went back to the past, it would
also be impossible to reclaim because the present me doesn't have a past. In
other words, I have already lost the initial feelings and thoughts.
Therefore, even if there is an opportunity, I would not go back to the past,
and I would not go towards the future either. I think I will stick to my
current life. I don't understand what the future holds, and I no longer care
about the past. That's my current mindset.
So, if there really was a chance to go back to the past, how would you
choose?
Do you remember the story about a slope?
There was a person climbing up the slope. He climbed fast and remained in
high spirits.
However, as he climbed, he realized that the slope was more challenging than
he had imagined. He could choose to turn back or rest where he was. However,
he chose to push through, despite his exhausted body.
In the end, he reached the finish line. When asked about his feelings at
that moment, he simply said softly, "I never regretted starting to climb."
This story may not represent a specific meaning, but I believe that life's
slope is long, so we should not regret it either. |

This passage reflects on the concept of going back to the past and explores
the speaker's personal perspective on the matter. The author reminisces
about their childhood and the desire to rectify past mistakes. They mention
the advancements in technology and the emergence of cloning and space
exploration, contrasting it with the limited progress in time travel. The
author ponders on the hypothetical scenario of being able to go back in
time, contemplating various possibilities such as correcting mistakes,
rekindling lost relationships, or reconnecting with deceased loved ones.
However, they ultimately express a conflicting viewpoint, stating that even
if given the chance, they would choose to stay in the present and not dwell
on the past or concern themselves with the future. The passage concludes
with a reference to a story about perseverance and the importance of
embracing life's challenges without regret. |
