The Importance of Cherishing What We Have |
|
"Let's go, don't think too much," Grandma said in a weak voice. "I'll take care
of myself, you take care of yourself too!" This was the conversation between my
third aunt and Grandma before they left. Sigh, Grandma's foot was plagued with
some kind of disease, causing several lumps to grow near the ankle, which kept
getting bigger and eventually rotting until it spread throughout her body. We
consulted many doctors, but none of them could cure her. Some even said it was
beyond treatment, and a combination of Chinese and Western medicine wouldn't
work. The whole family was disappointed. Third Aunt came to visit during the
"May Day" holiday to take another look. Although their conversation was long, I
couldn't listen anymore. I was already lost in thought...
Grandma had always been good to me. She treated me as if I were her own son and
never scolded or hit me. She loved me very much since I was her only grandson.
If my sister made a mistake, she would scold her loudly, but she would kindly
explain things to me until I understood.
Everyone cried, including my sister, mother, father, and third aunt... Everyone
cried silently, which conveyed a deep sense of family affection. But I was
strong, I didn't cry, not even a tear. This didn't mean that I didn't love
Grandma. I felt that crying was useless. The most important thing was to find a
solution! At that moment, I seemed to have understood something. Yes! I finally
understood that I had grown up and could distinguish right from wrong. As the
saying goes, "Every coin has two sides," which proves that everything has two
sides. I deeply understood the importance of "cherishing." When you have
everything, you forget to cherish it! But when you lose it, you will feel
nothing but pain...
I believe that we will eventually find a way, and a miracle will happen.
Grandma's foot will fully recover. Finally, I wish all the good people in the
world a safe and healthy life! |
