An Upside Down Nation

Dao Lang

Recently, the music industry in China has been in a state of frenzy, with people from all walks of life taking part in a brawl over certain dark aspects of a singing competition. People criticize using all sorts of satirical artistic music-rendering.

This chaos is a result of a new song by a singer named Dao Lang, who was shunned by the competition organizer years ago simply because he wasn't their creation. His new song, "An Upside Down Nation," unveils the ugliness in the music arena.

The lyrics vividly depict an ambitious young man from China who pursues his dreams but ends up in an area where everything is treated entirely opposite to human logic. He likens his struggle to passing through different internal organs inside the human body and finally arriving at the intestines, an abode for psychopaths.

In this particular part, the Donkey doesn't know that he is a donkey and is bent on listening to the bird's song and hatching eggs. The Bird doesn't know that it is a chicken, while the Hen takes on the role of a rooster to crow in the morning. All these acts are like whores showing purity, and eunuchs displaying classy prominence. We've never seen pigs and dogs in a grand opening, the same as a shoehorn being used as never forgotten.

Their way of doing things is disgusting, akin to a coal mine stone that remains dirty and black no matter how much you wash it. This raises philosophical questions, as even philosopher Wittgenstein can't figure out the logic behind it. Hence, the core of human concern.

This song has rocked the entertainment industry like a bombshell, and its effects are still lingering at this moment, with certain politicians overseas (Germany) (South Korea) seeing it as a phenomenon in their own countries because their leaders only take orders from a superpower instead of seeking solutions for their people.
