A Serene Morning in the Mist

I have seen the tender rain, the delicate snow, and the magnificent rainbow, but I have never seen a morning as enchanting as this. - Epigraph

Early one morning, my mother woke me up. Despite my reluctance, I got ready, only to find out that she hadn't prepared breakfast yet. So, I left the house silently and discovered that everything around me was blanketed in white. A chill breeze hit me, and I shuddered involuntarily. As I walked forward, the mist parted before me, as if I had entered a mystical world.

The sun in the sky seemed to be hidden by the mist, conquered by it, and was nowhere to be seen. The gentle breeze made the mist appear ethereal and surreal.

Everything was hazy in the mist. The withered grass lay lifeless, the sparkling dew had lost its vitality, and a thin layer of white veil covered the leaves. The mist aroused my curiosity, and I couldn't resist the urge to touch it. But every time I extended my hand, it slipped away. I longed to smell its fragrance, but it smelled only of soil. I wanted to embrace it, but it wouldn't accept my kindness.

Lost in thought, I wandered until I found a path leading up the mountain, shrouded in clouds and mist. It was like a green gemstone set on a white ribbon, the white veil of a fairy's dress, or the thin veil on an Indian woman's face. The path up the mountain seemed particularly tranquil, just as the saying goes, "A winding path leads to a secluded spot, where flowers and trees thrive in Zen temples." The temples in the mountains were faintly visible, and a wisp of smoke rose slowly. "The mountain light delights the birds, and the pond's reflection empties one's mind." Although I didn't look into the pond and see my reflection, all the worries in my mind had already dissipated in this scene. Occasionally, I could hear the birds chirping, perhaps they too were enchanted by this scene.

It lacked the tender sentiment of the rain, the colorful splendor of the rainbow, and the romantic charm of snowflakes, but it had its own unique beauty - a peaceful, dreamy, simple, and ordinary beauty.
