The Warmth of Friendship

Friendship leaves a lasting mark on our hearts. It carries the emotions we share with one another, weaving a bond that can be both familiar and strange. Sometimes we gain friends, and sometimes we lose them, but the memories remain precious. Friends bring warmth to cold days and strength when we face challenges.

Friends are like signposts guiding us through a confusing path; they are like comforting hugs on chilly winter mornings. They are the people who can be silly with me, laugh with me, and cry with me—without ever complaining.

You love to joke around with me. Whenever we argue, why do you always win and I always lose? After every disagreement, you tease me, saying, “Little girl, you want to argue with me? You’re still too young.” I wonder when I’ll ever win once. Strangely, after each argument, I start to believe you’re right—even when I’m sure I was. It puzzles me.

I remember once asking you a question. Without even looking, you said, “Ask me. It’s such a simple question. Even your sister knows this, hehe.” Then you checked the question, frowned, and admitted, “You really asked the right person—I honestly don’t know.” You gave me that innocent look that made it impossible to stay mad.

After school, you used to wait for me before going home. Then one day, you left first, leaving me alone at school. Even though I was by myself, I still felt warm. You always nagged about not staying out late and reminded me to go home with someone, like a caring mother. That warmth lingered in my heart.

“Over the years, through wind and rain, tears and mistakes, friends walk beside each other for a lifetime. Those days are gone forever, but a sentence, a lifetime, a deep bond, a shared glass of wine—these remain.”

My world shines brighter because of you, and you will always be the brightest star in my heart.
