The Season of Blooming Osmanthus in August |
|
Although osmanthus trees are not as graceful as plum blossoms, their fragrance
is extremely charming. Despite being a bit clumsy, it is my favorite flower.
Osmanthus roots are very thick and deeply embedded in the soil, striving to
absorb water and nutrients. Many small branches grow on each sturdy trunk,
covered with shiny green leaves, and dotted with dense clusters of small flowers
like yellow pearls, shining brightly in the sea of green leaves. The flowers
have various shapes, some still in bud, some half-opened like a pipa, and others
fully bloomed. From a distance, the osmanthus tree looks like a green umbrella,
or a giant mushroom, like a little girl dancing in the autumn wind.
At night, we play in the square, the elderly exercise by dancing, and children
laugh and run fast. Everyone breathes the air filled with osmanthus fragrance
and admires its refreshing scent. It feels so comfortable and pleasant.
The blooming osmanthus tree also signals the harvest season. When osmanthus
blossoms, many fruits and crops are ripe. During this bountiful season,
osmanthus proudly displays its personality. When someone shakes the trunk, the
petals fall like paratroopers, creating a beautiful golden osmanthus carpet on
the ground. This osmanthus carpet can be turned into many delicious treats, such
as sweet osmanthus cake, fragrant osmanthus tea, or dried for use in holiday
pastries.
August is the season of blooming osmanthus.
I love osmanthus, and I love the fragrant and beautiful August. |
