It was a day in the year 2046 when I was tasked with fellow
team members Wei and Jimo to embark on a difficult mission to locate the
habitat of Tibetan antelopes and protect them until the end of their
breeding season. I was eager to join them as I had always yearned for the
boundless blue sky, white clouds, and indescribable happiness lying on the
grass since I was a child.
Locating the habitat was not a problem as we could use bio-radar to detect
the antelopes' location. We set up our tents on a nearby hill and took three
horses to roam around the area. Suddenly, Jimo asked me, "Tian, are humans
really that greedy? Will they kill anything for themselves?" I lowered my
head, speechless, as I did not know how to respond. I could only use silence
to cover up the heinous crimes that humans have committed against Tibetan
antelopes. Humans have already accumulated too much debt for their own sake.
A sharp gunshot shattered the tranquility of the grassland, and the antelope
herd in front of us became restless. "Poachers," the three of us thought in
unison. Wei spurred his horse and rushed forward, with Jimo and me closely
following behind. A Jeep raced recklessly across the grassland, and the
people on the car continued to laugh and fire their guns. We were all
outraged and raised our guns at the car, although we knew the consequences.
The car's tires were punctured, and it crashed into a hilltop, flipping over
with its bottom up. The people on the car were subdued by us, and we hurried
to check the condition of the antelope herd.
Unexpectedly...
A mother antelope lay on the ground, seemingly expressing her anger and
sadness to the plateau. Blood was flowing out from her body, staining the
plateau and her crying little lamb beneath her. It deeply pierced our
hearts. Wei raised his gun to the sky and kept firing, the sound of the
gunshots was particularly piercing. I shouted to the plateau, "Why? Why? Why
can't everyone live together on the same planet? Why do humans have the
right to kill other living creatures?" In response to me, Jimo gently picked
up the lamb and stroked it, saying, "Little lamb, come with me."
On the plateau, the wind continued to blow, and under the setting sun, there
was only one tomb and three people! And their promise to the Tibetan
antelopes, to be with them forever on the plateau, as long as the antelopes
existed, they would exist. |
