The Embarrassing Consequences of Skipping School for the
Movies |
|
One day, on my way to school, I ran into my friend Raine. He suggested that we
skip school and go to the movies, and after much persuasion, I agreed. We
settled in for a Will Smith movie and watched as other moviegoers trickled in,
including couples, families, and even some truant school students.
Suddenly, I spotted my uncle and aunt walking in, and I quickly sank into my
seat, hoping they wouldn't see me. I signaled to Raine, but he made things worse
by loudly asking who I was trying to avoid. To my dismay, my relatives sat down
in the row behind us, talking about how much I would have loved the movie and
commenting on the truant students.
As the movie began, I couldn't focus on it and instead spent the whole time
peering over the seat and trying to avoid being seen. When the movie ended, I
waited for my aunt and uncle to leave before making a dash for the door. But to
my horror, they were waiting for me, and I stuttered and spluttered when they
confronted me. They scolded me and sent us off to school, and I felt incredibly
embarrassed about the whole situation.
The experience taught me a valuable lesson about the consequences of skipping
school, and I vowed not to do it again. |
