The Indomitable Spirit |
|
On a scorching summer day, not a single cloud graced the sky. The sun seared the
ground relentlessly, radiating intense heat. A gust of wind swept in, lifting a
wave of scorching air from the earth, suffocating anyone in its path. The weeds
wilted under the scorching sun, their leaves curling into thin strands. Every
afternoon, people found themselves easily exhausted, as if just waking up from a
deep slumber, sluggish and unwilling to move. Even the birds in the forest,
mouths agape, rested lazily on the trees, too lethargic to venture out in search
of food.
Walking down the streets, the sparse crowd made it feel lifeless. In the
distance, a figure was seen pacing back and forth on the main road. Upon closer
inspection, it turned out to be our city's "beauticians"! They were diligently
contributing to the beautification of our city! With sweat streaming down their
faces and panting heavily, they earnestly swept every nook and cranny,
occasionally looking up to ensure the surroundings were spotless. What
hardworking cleaners they were!
Reflecting on the arduous work of the cleaners, let us now turn our attention to
the railway workers. As their sounds gradually faded away, each railway worker
endured the scorching sun overhead and the heat emanating from the machines
beneath their feet. Curiosity got the better of me, and I asked one of the
railway workers, "Uncle, aren't you hot on such a sweltering day?" He replied,
"Youngster, if someone says they're not hot, they must be made of steel. But for
the construction of our motherland, for the people, no matter how hot it gets,
we must persevere!" The rumbling of the machines and the shouts of the railway
workers blended into a harmonious melody, composing a magnificent song. How
magnificent it was that the railway workers tirelessly laid the tracks for us!
Indeed, in the fiery summer days, there are fiery individuals who burn with
passion just like the scorching sun. |
