A Misunderstanding that Almost Broke a Family |
|
Maggie was heartbroken as she read the note her son Simpson had left on her
dressing table. He accused her of not caring for him and his younger brother and
of dating another man so soon after their father's death. She blamed herself for
not being able to explain the truth to him.
The truth was that Maggie had been secretly saving money to buy a car for her
family. She had also been taking driving lessons as neither she nor her late
husband knew how to drive. Maggie had planned to surprise her sons on Simpson's
upcoming nineteenth birthday by having the car delivered to the restaurant where
they were going to celebrate. But Simpson had apparently seen her with Willy,
the car dealer, and misunderstood their meetings as romantic.
Now, Maggie had to find her son and explain the situation to him. She searched
for him at his favorite places and eventually found him sitting by the lake
where he used to go fishing with his father. At first, Simpson refused to
listen, but Maggie showed him the purchase contract for the car and explained
everything to him. His anger cooled down, and he understood his mother's
intentions.
Maggie was grateful for the chance to clear up the misunderstanding with her
son. She hoped that they could move past this and become a happy family again. |
