What do boys lack today? Some say they lack
opportunities; others say they lack wealth. However, I believe that
while these things are important, they are not the most fundamental. In
a world where material wealth is abundant, what is needed more is a
spirit, a masculine energy that embodies true manhood. This is exactly
what boys are lacking.
Perhaps some may disagree: shouldn't boys today be the way they are now?
Do they have to be all about "eating meat and drinking alcohol," and
constantly engaging in fights and violence? Of course not. That should
not be the standard of manhood either. A true man, at the very least, is
brave, responsible, possesses strength without arrogance, and should
symbolize power with a hint of self-assuredness.
However, in today's schools, not to mention that the number of female
students in some colleges has exceeded that of male students, even in
middle schools, there are only a few boys in student councils. On
ordinary days, girls confidently declare, "Boys, leave when we're
playing jump rope!" Has there ceased to be a stage for showcasing true
manhood? It is truly embarrassing to hear these things! The current
educational enlightenment, family environment, social factors, and so on
have caused boys to lack the spirit and character they should possess.
This should be a matter of concern for everyone.
A true man should strive for independence and autonomy, taking control
of his own life. An eaglet hiding under its mother's wings cannot soar
into the blue sky. Are today's parents perhaps overly protective?
According to reports, at a recent career counseling session, a male
student quietly held his mother's arm, waiting for her to ask questions
and request materials. This level of timidity is even inferior to that
of a typical sheltered young lady. Perhaps we should learn from Jialili,
a male character created by Qin Wenjun, who is both mischievous and
brave, as well as responsible and sensible.
A true man should possess an unwavering spirit. They should believe in
the phrase, "I was born to be useful." In South Korea, there is Lee
Chang-ho, who stood tall in the world of chess at the age of 20. In
Croatia, a 13-year-old boy independently funded his participation in the
World Youth Chess Championship and secured third place. The whole
country was astonished, and this boy was treated like a hero. They face
challenges and move forward without hesitation, walking down paths that
others have not taken. A resolute spirit is what a true man should
strive for.
A true man must demonstrate strength and shoulder responsibility.
Nowadays, almost all class leaders in schools are girls, so it may be
necessary to call for "defending the half of the sky for true men."
Teachers should purposefully cultivate a group of boys, and these boys
should also showcase their abilities and talents, earning the trust and
respect of their classmates and teachers. Napoleon said, "A soldier who
does not wish to become a general is not a good soldier." I would say, a
boy who is unwilling to shoulder responsibility is not a true man. Only
those who thrive and grow under pressure and motivation can be
considered true men.
Society needs true men, and we admire true men. Let's cultivate resolute
and outstanding true men together to support the great cause of the
Chinese nation in the 21st century! |
