A Birthday to Remember

Maznah's Birthday Party

On her tenth birthday, Maznah threw a wonderful party in the evening. She invited about twenty of her school friends and neighbors. She was overjoyed and bubbling with excitement the entire day.

Maznah looked adorable in a lovely pink dress decorated with white daisies. Her hair was neatly tied up with two matching pink ribbons, and she looked absolutely sweet and ready for her special day.

By around 4:00 p.m., her friends started arriving at her house, each bringing a present for Maznah. She received all sorts of gifts—story books, boxes of chocolates, pretty handkerchiefs, cute dolls, jigsaw puzzles, and game sets. After wishing her a happy birthday and giving her their gifts, the children dashed off to play in the garden. They had a great time on the red swings, the slide, the see-saw, and the merry-go-round. Their laughter and playful screams filled the air, creating a lively and joyful scene.

Soon, they gathered to play party games like 'Musical Chairs', 'Rounders', and 'Treasure Hunt'. The winners were thrilled to receive small prizes such as exercise books, pencils, sweets, and bars of chocolate. Maznah felt proud and happy as she handed out the prizes to her friends.

A little while later, Maznah’s mother called everyone to the dining table, which was beautifully decorated with colorful treats. There were curry puffs, cakes, sandwiches, jelly, iced syrup drinks, ice cream, and 'popiah'. In the centre of the table stood a gorgeous birthday cake shaped like a clock, showing '10 o’clock'. It was covered in pink icing, decorated with ten pink candles and tiny flowers. As her friends sang the birthday song, Maznah made a wish and cut the cake while her father eagerly took photos of the cheerful moment.

By 6:30 p.m., the party came to an end. Before her friends left, Maznah’s mother handed each of them a small gift—a story book and a colorful balloon. The children were delighted and left with big smiles, waving goodbye to their kind hostess.

It was truly a birthday Maznah would never forget. She had a wonderful time celebrating with her friends.
