It was a wearisome day for Paul. He had so much work to do at the office that he
thought he would never finish it. As soon as he got into bed, he
slept
like a log. He was too tired to think about anything else besides
sleep. Paul began to dream. He was on a boat with his friends, going down a
calm river. The steep cliffs on either side of the boat looked threatening. He
was trying to move the boat past the cliffs as fast as he could. His friends,
however, did not seem to mind the steep cliffs at all. They were enjoying the
ride. Suddenly, the boat tipped to one side, throwing Paul into the river. He
shouted for help but his friends thought he had jumped in for a swim. He tied
swimming back to the boat but something was pulling at him. He shouted to his
friends again but they only laughed, thinking he was
pulling
their leg. He felt himself sinking deeper and deeper. He was
screaming for his life but nobody could hear him.
Paul woke up with a start. his pyjamas were wet from perspiration. he was
relieved that it was only a horrible nightmare. |
