It was just past six in the evening when I took a quiet
stroll along the seashore in Penang. The tide had begun to roll in, and the
waves crashed rhythmically against the rocks, filling the air with the roar
of the sea. Overhead, seagulls circled gracefully, scanning the surface of
the water for fish before diving in with swift precision.
The entire scene was breathtaking. The sun was slowly setting, slipping
below the horizon as the sky transformed into a canvas of pink, gold,
orange, and yellow. Its reflection on the gentle ripples of the sea
captivated me, creating a moment of stillness and awe. There was something
magical in how the twilight made the waves shimmer and dance, as if the
ocean itself were alive with light.
In the distance, I noticed weary fishermen returning in their boats after a
long day out at sea, their vessels likely filled with the day’s catch. Along
the shore, others had come to enjoy the evening as well—families, couples,
and friends walked leisurely, savoring the refreshing sea breeze. The
children were especially joyful, running in and out of the surf, their
laughter echoing across the beach as the waves playfully chased their little
feet.
Surrounded by the calm of the sea and the vibrant colors of the sky, I felt
completely at peace. That evening walk reminded me of the quiet beauty
nature offers at the end of each day—a perfect farewell to the sun and a
gentle welcome to the night. |
