Sultanate of Melaka and the early kingdoms such as Langkasuka and Kedah Tua. The
country was colonized for 446 years before finally achieving independence on
August 31st, 1957. This long and rich history has left behind many historical
buildings and monuments, both local and European in nature. With the recognition

preserving these historical buildings has become increasingly evident. The
government has therefore allocated significant funds for the preservation of
these buildings.

independence for over 50 years, the impact of colonial rule by the British,
Dutch, and Portuguese can still be seen today and must be preserved for future

Malaysia recorded by famous writers is real and not just a collection of fairy
tales, myths, or legends. For example, the golden age of the port city of Melaka
in the 15th and 16th centuries can be experienced through the Porta de Santiago,
Christ Church, Stadhuys Building, and St. Paul's Church. Similarly, Kota
Cornwallis, the Kling Mosque, St. Georgetown Church, and Pulau Pinang serve as a
reminder of the country's colonization and the early British rule in the
Peninsula Peninsula Peninsular.
In addition to serving as evidence of historical events, historical buildings
and monuments also serve as role models and lessons for society, especially for
the youth. Today's youth have less awareness of their own history, particularly
the history of Malaysia. By having historical buildings in our country, they can

Furthermore, preserving historical buildings and monuments also plays an
important role in boosting tourism. These buildings attract tourists from all
over the world, who are interested in learning about the country's rich history
and culture. This, in turn, generates significant revenue for the country
through tourism, which contributes to the national economy. In addition, the
restoration of these buildings creates job opportunities in the construction and
related industries, which helps to stimulate the local economy.
In conclusion, the preservation of historical buildings and monuments is of
paramount importance in the context of Malaysia. These buildings serve as
