Combating International Crimes |
|
Combating international crimes has become a topic of global discussion in
today's modern and challenging world. The increasing pattern of such crimes,
such as human trafficking, cybercrime, drug smuggling, and the proliferation of
firearms, which is causing the deaths of thousands of innocent people, is
becoming a source of concern for all of us. We need to collectively address this
issue to ensure global peace and prosperity.
The main initiative in preventing these crimes from happening is to establish
strong multilateral relationships. Our leaders have already ensured that we have
multilateral relationships with foreign countries by joining the United Nations
(UN) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The participation
of our country in international organizations that involve various countries
allows us to receive the latest military and security technology from more
advanced countries. However, the existence of veto-wielding countries has
hindered efforts to achieve global security. This is because some international
crimes are caused by the actions of these veto-wielding countries in pursuing or
protecting their interests. If every country practices an open and tolerant
attitude in pursuing progress, it is not impossible to achieve global peace.
At the same time, we should take advantage of the latest technological
advancements. Sharing data or information related to international crimes will
help in addressing conflicts that disrupt global harmony. Cooperation between
international security agencies such as Interpol and local security agencies
such as the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) should be encouraged. For example, we
can see in the newspapers and television news broadcasts the quick action of the
PDRM in arresting individuals involved in extremist and compromising activities
to commit crimes such as bombings, and so on. The efficiency of our country's
security personnel should be praised because with their quick actions and the
help of international security agencies, they have ensured that no extreme
incidents have occurred within our country.
Another way to prevent international criminal activities is to narrow the
economic gap between developed and developing countries. Economic pressures and
resource shortages have caused crimes such as human trafficking to occur as
people are forced to find ways to earn a living. Therefore, developed countries
should be concerned about the fate of other countries that are less fortunate
and provide them with the resources they need to improve their economy. This
will not only benefit the less fortunate countries but will also contribute to
the overall stability of the global economy.
In conclusion, combating international crimes requires a collective effort from
all of us. By establishing strong multilateral relationships, taking advantage
of technological advancements, and narrowing the economic gap between countries,
we can work towards a safer and more prosperous world. |
