Benefits of Learning Computer in Education

In this modern era, technology has influenced various aspects of human life, transforming the lifestyle of the conventional community to a more progressive and global one. One of the technological creations that have had a significant impact on us is the computer. Generally, the computer is an electronic device that receives input data, processes it, and provides output in the form of information such as images, texts, audio, or videos. Now, it has evolved into various computer types such as laptops and tablets, created to meet the demands of users for different purposes such as work, games, or education. If we delve deeper, computers have positively impacted education, particularly in educational institutions. Thus, it is necessary to discuss the benefits of learning computer for students as the catalyst for the future of the country.

The primary benefit of learning computer in education is its ability to attract the interest and attention of students. Previously, the learning process in classrooms required students to focus on the teachings or lectures given by teachers. This passive and boring learning process has caused students to lose interest and lag behind as they do not receive enough attention in the classroom. Learning through computers can attract students' interest as the use of video and audio in the teaching process can capture their attention. Various elements such as animation can be used to create an interactive learning environment, making the teaching and learning process in classrooms more active and enjoyable. Interactive learning patterns can develop a strong relationship between teachers and students, and learning objectives can be achieved effectively.

Furthermore, learning computer can facilitate the sharing and storage of information among students and teachers. The use of books and papers in the learning process utilizes limited natural resources and requires a lot of energy to write or take notes. With computers, students and teachers can share important notes related to the subjects they learn through email or applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Drive. School assignments can also be completed more efficiently using computer applications. Note storage or assignments do not require large spaces at home as all information from the computer can be saved virtually for free. Although the cost of using computers in learning is high compared to traditional methods, it directly helps to conserve natural resources that are increasingly threatened with extinction. As a result, technology-savvy and environmentally-conscious younger generations can be born.

Another benefit that students can gain from learning computers is the stimulation of their creativity and skills. This is because students are young and imaginative without boundaries. Therefore, by using technology applications on computers, students can express their creativity through assignments given by teachers. For example, assignments that require students to create a video about independence day. Students can be exposed to using other technologies such as cameras, microphones, and video editing applications. This situation not only stimulates the creativity of students but also enhances their skills individually. As the Malay proverb goes, while diving, drink water. This method provides freedom for students to find their own way to create a video that can attract viewers' attention and deliver the message desired by teachers.

Finally, learning through computers can help students access the Internet, which is the hub of world information. The birth of the Internet technology has transformed the global landscape of information and communication. Students can now access the internet to obtain information without time and space restrictions about any topic they wish to learn. The Internet also offers various online courses and tutorials that students can enroll in and learn from, providing them with an opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills beyond the classroom walls.
