The Effects of Supplement Intake
 
In recent times, various types of dietary supplements are being heavily promoted on television, every radio station and social media. The zeal and commitment of companies in promoting their products are commendable, but there are a few who deceive their customers with harmful ingredients that can be dangerous to one's life. On close inspection, dietary supplements can be divided into several types such as vitamin and mineral supplements, herbal and plant-based supplements, and beauty and cosmetic supplements. The factor of time constraints and the difficulty in obtaining nutritious food has led to dietary supplements being considered a necessity in today's life. Therefore, it is wise for us to understand the effects of supplement intake before we purchase and use them to achieve the desired results.

One of the most effective effects of supplement intake is its ability to boost a person's immune system and overall health. For instance, children who struggle to eat nutritious foods like vegetables can take supplements such as vitamin A and vitamin C to get the necessary nutrients and minerals especially during a crucial stage in growth. Similarly, adults can benefit from dietary supplements such as cod liver oil or milk to supply specific nutrients for the body's antibodies to prevent age-related diseases. As we age, some body functions don't work as efficiently as before, so dietary supplements can provide the necessary nourishment for the body to function well and keep us healthy. Prevention is better than cure, as the saying goes.

Moreover, supplement intake has a positive impact on our country's athletes and athletes around the world. The stark physical differences make it difficult for healthy competition in the sports industry and kills the joy of sports. Scientific research and modern technology have helped produce supplements that can enhance physical performance, making someone stronger, more agile and muscular compared to ordinary people. As a result, supplements have given athletes a positive effect where they can improve their physical ability while training for their sport's technique and compete at the world level. Our nation's bodybuilding athlete, Sazali Samad, is a prime example of an athlete who uses supplements and is disciplined in training, he has brought glory to Malaysia by winning the "Mr. Universe" award 10 times.

However, supplement intake is like life, it has its pros and cons. The negative effects of supplement intake can be extremely dangerous and even life-threatening. Overdose of certain supplements can lead to serious health problems such as kidney damage, liver damage, and other organ failures. Therefore, it is important for us to be cautious and consult with a healthcare professional before consuming any type of supplement to avoid any negative impact. In conclusion, supplement intake can have a positive impact on our health and performance if used correctly and in moderation.
